Give me some basic information about yourself. Where are you from? Where do/did you go to high school/college? What are some of your main interests and hobbies?

I am basically a keralite.born and brought up in abu dhabi.. I did my schooling  there till the 9th grade(our own English high school. and back to Trivandrum (St Thomas central school) for 3 years after which I did my college from MIT , Manipal.
My interests are that I am very passionate about acting, dancing, painting and writing.
I love traveling, shopping and listening to music.

How would you describe your professional interests?
I love anything that’s innovative,  spontaneous creative and that’s why I love acting.. I love painting… I love writing as well.. there’s a lot that I would want to take up professionally. but its acting for starters.. and should say engineering was never my cup of tea :).

What’s your background in modeling? When and why did you get started? Was it for the glamour? The money? Pure kicks?
PURE KICKS! I did fashion shows in college.. a few ads here and there but got more noticed through brands like Mysore sandal soap, MALABAR GOLD in 2011 gave a lot of visibility in India and abroad… even the film offers came through that..I won a couple of pageants too.. Miss navy queen kannur kerala -2010 and Miss Sandalwood, karnataka.

Who are some of your favorite models and designers, and why?
That’s hard to tell because there are too many of them. From Ralph Lauren to  Ritu Beri.. also some random young and innovative people who made no name or fame by themselves as yet. There is lots of talent around and many are not yet noticed..

Which fashion magazines, websites, blogs, and catalogs do you visit most often?
Again! there’s a lot of them!!!

What’s your fashion mantra?
I like to wear what suits me and what I can carry off with confidence. Comfort is a big factor and I wouldn’t want to wear anything that  I am not comfortable in. I like to create my own fashion statement and I don’t like to chase any particular trend.

How would you describe your style? Consider anything and everything from color to historical eras and more.
Like I mentioned above, I would wear anything that looks good on me and what’s  I am comfortable in. I love color and I like bright colors for the day and deep shades for the night.

Where do you generally shop?
Lots of places… I pick different stuff from different stores.but forever new would be one of my favorites.

What other modeling projects have you done?
I have endorsed a lot of brands like textiles, food an beverages, face and hair products, Jewelry to electronic devices, home appliances, paints.. Both in national as well as in International brands.

Out of all of the photos the photographer took of you, which is your favorite and why?
I worked with a lot of brilliant photographers… but  Arshal would be one of the best..and so was dab ratnani who shot me for an international print ad.
What makes your city’s fashion unique?
The youth and the older people are trendy and have a good taste of fashion. People are very well dressed here.

Do you have any other experience in the fashion industry (writing, photography, marketing, etc.)?
I have helped my friends with all you mentioned.

What is fun and rewarding about modeling?
It makes you feel confident and good about yourself plus its a lot of fun and I enjoy every thing I take up.It also gives good publicity appreciation and pays well too.

What do you dislike about modeling?

There’s nothing  dislike about modeling according to me. As long as I get different kinds of assignments, its always fun

What advice do you have for other aspiring models?
I think everyone should discover whats the best in them. You may have a good face ,a good body but that’s not enough, but what really matters is your confidence and attitude and that can take you to places.

How do you prepare for a modeling shoot?
I just take a deep breath, feel confident and smile! I think a good sleep is essential the night before you shoot.

How would you describe working with the photographer?
I love to be in front of the camera, somehow every photographer I worked with turned out to be great to work with. Most models get along with most photographers as both love what they are doing and they enjoy working together.

What makes a stylish lady or man? Is there a difference?
A man or a lady who knows what looks good on them and what makes them stand out with confidence is a stylish lady or man. There are women to like to be tomboy and men who like feminine colors as well!
How would you describe the photographer’s style?
Every photographer has his own style and taste.

Who are some of your favorite fashion photographers?
Arshal, Daboo, zuhair, John.
What does fashion mean to you?
Being trendy…and choosing the colors and styles that suit you the best.
What distinguishes a good model from a bad one?
Its all about the confidence, If you are confident, you are good !!
What distinguishes a good photograph from a bad one?
Same applies here.. a photographer should be able to make a model seem more beautiful on camera than she appears in real.

What makes Bangalore a good shopping city? How could bangalore shopping be improved?
I think bangalore is a great place to shop and a lot of international brands are available.. however it can still keep getting better

What are some other cities you think provide good/great shopping experiences?
In India, Bombay and delhi are the best to shop from.

How has modeling changed other aspects of your life?
It has definitely made me more confident as a person and broadened my sense and taste of fashion and helped make a lot of talented and creative friends.

Do you do your own hair and make-up?
Yes, I do. When I go out for a function or event and we get make up artists for a shoot..
What are some of the main differences between runway and photographic modeling?
Both need a good attitude primarily, but height does come into consideration for runway modeling and its not that important when it comes to photographic modeling, photographic also takes more time, and effort as well

What’s your favorite outfit from your own closet? Do you have your own personal uniform?
I prefer casuals when I go out, jeans and a shirt is my favorite.

Describe the atmosphere when you’re on a shoot. Do you play music? Do you talk with the photographer between shots?
yes.. Play music and we also do talk.. and crack joke in order to have a light n chill air around us.
