Meet Samyukta Hornad, a bangalore based 22 year old actress. She made her debut film in Kannada titled ‘Lifeu Ishtene’ which became a massive hit among youth where she played a young college girl in the film.
Samyukta Hornad recently acted in Prakash Raj’s trilingual film Oggarane (in Kannada).
Apart from acting, Samyukta is a big time animal lover, something which is very evident from her official facebook page and she helps a lot for needy animal care organizations.

How did you get involved into Acting?
I come from a family who were into films from a very long time right from my grandpa and grandma. My grandpa was a famous make-up artist, my mother, Sudha Belawadi, is an actress and my father, M G Sathya, had written the script for Swades starring Sharukh Khan. So we were some way or the other involved in acting, singing and dancing. I am into the films because of my mom. My first movie was about 2 years back. Even though I got good scripts, I never thought I would be in acting. It just happened.
What are the kind of roles you have performed through out the career?
I was into all kinds of role, from devadasi role, to a village girl who loses her husband and comes to a and is ill treating city .So i have been into different kind of roles in theater. In movies, I have played girls who is in college or just passed college.But since I like acting , any kind of role would do
From where did you learn acting? Did you get trained for it?
I went to few workshops in couple of acting schools. I went for theatre arts when I was in college. My biggest inspiration as I took up theatre very seriously is because of B jayashree.I joined to a group called Spandana and B jayashree taught me from how to lose exhibitions to how to act.B jayashree is a MP right now and She won the padmashri award as well recently.
How was working with Prakash raj Sir?
I just learnt a lot from him. I think working with him in a movie gave me more acting skills more than any acting institutes.Its not just about acting, its actually learning about life too when you work with such great personalities.
What’s hardest part of being a celebrity?
To get a kind of role which demands you to act for a heroine. Its always difficult to make your director happy, But its more difficult to get the right script. being a celebrity is not a new thing for me because my mom has a great fan following.
How much do you hate diets?
I love it. I can do anything for a movie. I think I can follow a diet. But you are sure that you are going to find me a different Samyukta in some good restaurant having some delicious food. So how much ever I lose, I gain it very soon . High fives
What are your favorite places in Bengaluru?
Food- I like all kinds of food. My most favourite is Curd rice and pickle.Some of the hangout places in bangalore are Ranga Shankara , which is is my favorite hangout/chill place.There is also a place in jaaga -Its called play studio, where you can sit, listen to music and write. Its not all about food, its also about ambiance.
What do you fear the most?
The day I stop amusing myself, I get scared and then I get bored. I need something which interests me constantly to be occupied.
One Bollywood celeb male, you would like to have as your neighbor?
If its anything with Bollywood..Its definitely gonna be Hrithik. I am his biggest fan.
What if you come to know that a woman is hitting on you?
I would say ‘Sorry maam’, Its good to know even girls like me but I wont know how to react that moment
Do you love reading? Which is your favorite book?
I read Paulo Coelho and motivational/philosophical books.
